December 29, 2007

Sydnie and I went to the McKenna's Children Museum. It was Sydnie's first trip to a museum and she loved it! When we first arrived she played at the train table and kitchen and seemed pretty content, however, when she realized there was a whole new world waiting to be explored, I could hardly keep up. She went kayaking,

caught fish, rode the ambulance many times (she was the patient not the driver),

took care of the babies and rode the space shuttle. Only after the dinosaurs were quiet would she venture into their area-they were very realistic! When she went grocery shopping the first area she hit was the bakery-bread, doughnuts, pastries and cookies....hmmmm...I wonder if she is missing breads from her diet?? Since we have gone wheat/gluten free and dairy free, the first question she asks before any meal or snack is, "Does it have wheat? Does it have gluten? Does it have dairy?" If the answer is no, then a resounding "YIPPEEEEE, I can eat it!" is heard.

Poor thing, it takes a while to get used to, but if the menu is changing for Syd, it will probably change for the family. 'Oh joy', I am sure would be the sentiment from Daddy. But, you do what you must!
